Human Resources Professionals Day is September 26, 2022, but we think HR professionals are so awesome we decided to dedicate a full week to them!

Human Resources professionals are the backbone of organizations, managing a myriad of people related issues, systems and initiatives. They are the fire fighters, mediators and policy makers, yet unfortunately their contributions are frequently overlooked. But we see you and we want to acknowledge your efforts through a series of FREE virtual sessions geared towards HR professionals and/or those who oversee the HR function in their organization.

The sessions will provide you with knowledge and tools to take care of yourself in the workplace and build workplaces that hopefully make your job easier. Details below:

Who can attend the events? The Wellbeing Works HR Professionals Week events are intended for HR professionals or those who oversee the HR function in their organizations. (We will confirm this with each registrant) 

Can more than one person from an organization attend? Absolutely! Invite your entire HR department to the event the more the merrier. (It also makes integrating some of the knowledge and tools learned easier when more than one person participates.)

Where will the events take place? All events are virtual.

Is there a cost to attend any of the events? No, all events are FREE to HR professionals and/or those who oversee the HR function in their organization.

Will the events be recorded? Sorry, the only way to get the information is to participate during the live virtual event.

Unpacking Trauma Related to Working as an HR Professional

The role of HR professionals places them at the center of organizational challenges, interpersonal conflicts and extreme pressure, which can result in trauma. Trauma is essentially experiences that cause a high level of distress and impact wellbeing. Many HR professionals are unaware that they have experienced trauma or their department is not equipped to respond to trauma or proactively build systems to prevent trauma.

  • How trauma can show up in the workplace for HR professionals
  • The four R's of being trauma informed
  • Guidance on how to implement trauma informed self-care and trauma informed management approaches into HR departments

Founder and Chief Practitioner at Wellbeing Works, LLC, Dr. Shanna B. Tiayon, offers a rare opportunity to ask her your most burning questions on topic such as:  employee wellbeing, mental health in the workplace, how to build healthy workplace cultures, HR strategies for challenging workplaces, current viral trends like, "quiet quitting", etc. Dr. Tiayon will hold a virtual ask me anything session to respond to your questions in real time. 

Dr. Tiayon has a PhD in Social Psychology and over 19 years of experience in human resources. She is a mental health expert and she conducts research, writes, trains and speaks on topics of wellbeing globally.

Let's Get Physical: How to set up your workspace and take care of your body for optimal performance

With workplaces shifting to more remote and hybrid work arrangements, many employees have developed chronic health issues related to their physical workspace and daily work habits. Come learn how to set up your work or home office space for ideal productivity and tips on how to take care of your body and propel your workday. Participants will learn: 

  • How to set up their desk and computer devices for optimal ergonomics
  • Different movements that can replace a cup of coffee and produce more focus during a busy day
  • The types of snacks and beverages that help to create sustained energy without crashing
